Is Hilary Duff Trying to Tell Us Something by Dyeing Her Hair Lilac Again?

Published

on

Perhaps Hilary Duff spent the long weekend watching reruns of her pre-teen Disney show Lizzie McGuire and got jealous of her character’s multicolor highlighted hair, or perhaps this is her subtle way of once again announcing that more new tunes and music videos are headed our way. All we know for sure is, Hillary Duff just dyed her flaxen locks a vibrant shade of lilac yet again.

If we’ve learned anything about Duff over the course of this past year, it’s that 1. she’s not afraid to Tinder while at work, and 2. there’s no hair color she won’t try. Last April, the double hyphenate went through a similar technicolor transformation, first opting for a deep turquoise mermaid-inspired color that she let fade out before revealing a dip-dyed silver to lilac ombré. It was later revealed both hair reinventions were a part of the looks in the music video for her single “Sparks,” in which she also takes a bewildered date she found on the aforementioned app for a game of group bowling. So, understandably, when we see Hilary go lilac again, we can’t help but feel like some fresh tunes go hand-in-hand.

And the Younger actress is certainly not the only one feeling those Manic Panic hues right now, tons of celebs have also jumped on the neon tresses bandwagon, including Jared Leto, Julianne Hough, and Britney Spears, to name just a few. Over the past few years, rainbow-colored hair has gone from the strict purview of punks to the easiest way to make an effortless cool girl statement no matter your personal style. Now if only Hilary would try out a few of her early aughts TV character’s chunky pink highlights and make all of our Millenial dreams come true.

What do you think of Hilary Duff’s new hair? Do you prefer it lilac or blonde? What color would you like to see her try next?
