January Jones Channels Julia Roberts’ Pretty Woman Character at Polo Match

Published

January Jones is a present-day style icon in her own right, but when it was time for her to select an outfit for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles, she turned to an iconic ’90s character for her style inspiration.

“I’ve never been to a polo match so the only reference I had was Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman,” she told PEOPLE before the match at Will Rogers State Historic Park in the Pacific Palisades. “I put [on] my polka dots.”

Her outfit, which consisted of a navy white-spotted Zimmermann dress, Reformation blazer and Eugenia Kim hat was reminiscent of Vivian Ward’s famous polka-dot dress and hat combo. And the whole look is serving up some serious Halloween vibes.

Speaking of Halloween, the 37-year-old actress already has her costume picked out thanks to her 4-year-old son, Xander.

“I’m Claire from Jurassic World, per my son’s request,” she shared. “I have to find some really bad heels.”

Jones added that Xander will also be channeling Jurassic World with his costume.

“We have a big potluck thing in my neighborhood and everyone gets dressed up,” she said. “He is a T-Rex and the dog is a raptor. I don’t know. He wants to be Owen and a T-Rex.”

When Jones isn’t prepping outfits and costumes, she’s hard at work on the second season of Fox’s Last Man On Earth, and she couldn’t be having a better time.

“I just love everyone involved and it’s just fun to go to work and laugh all day and improv,” she said. “It’s just a very creative environment and the people I admire.”

What do you think of the star’s Pretty Woman moment? Are you loving her costume idea? Sound off below.
