Funk Flex and DJ Envy Beefing ?? Calling DJ Envy a Snitch .

Published

on

The feud between Hot 97 and Power 105.1 was reignited in the public eye shortly after news broke that Angie Martinez has resigned from Hot 97 in order to join forces with Power 105. Angie was a radio host on the popular Hip-Hop station for over two decades, so her exiting to join their rival has to sting. While the two stations have resisted the urge to send shots at one another for some time now, that temporary truce crumbled after DJ Funkmaster Flex took to Instagram to air out DJ Envy.

Flex, a Hot 97 representative, posted a picture of a legal document on his Instagram account which was issued by DJ Envy’s lawyer. The document turned out to simply be a cease-and-desist letter addressed to former Hot 97 Program Director Ebro Darden, seeking that Flex stop making “defamatory statements” about Envy and his wife. Flex made sure to stamp the “snitch” label on DJ Envy in the caption for the photo:

“McGruff the Snitch aka lil power ranger always talking to police and lawyers sending over paperwork!!! #stoptalkingtopolice”

Envy fired back at Flex on his own Instagram account by reposting the photo of the cease-and-desist letter, and making it clear to all of their followers that the document was only a cease-and-desist notice, not a lawsuit of any kind. DJ Envy also called out Flex for “flexing for the ‘Gram” by trying to act tough when in reality he knows he isn’t “about that life.” Envy stated that “any TRUE Dad or HUSBAND would do the same,” in order to protect their family from being on the receiving end of relentless slanderous remarks.

Since they both fired off on each other over Envy’s cease-and-desist letter, fans have chimed in sharing their opinions on the subject. Check out all of the drama above.

Do you respect Envy for issuing a simple cease-and-desist letter, or is that a form of “snitching”?

Let it be known that Envy’s cease-and-desist letter that Funk Flex posted to Instagram, was actually issued last year on March 4th, 2013.
